Week Eight : Paddington Analysis

In order to truly embed an architectural entity within the community of Paddington it is crucial to understand both the present and emerging language of the precinct. Considering the implications of multiple scales I approached the following analysis in terms of context, city, precinct and site.

At present the Paddington precinct is an aggregate of the diversity present within the community. It is defined exclusively by the Given - Latrobe Terrace thoroughfare which stitches the surrounding character residence to a physical high line of activity and culture emulating the language of the precinct. Several nodes form points of attraction along this route and act to embellish the neighbourhood with a necklace of community projects. Envisioning the future of Paddington; these spatial relationships will have developed further and created a layering of activities, services and provisions permeating further into the urban fabric.
